Denmark changed to ODF and OSS

It has been announced by the Danish government, that the Danish state administrative body will adopt the open format ODF as its sole document standard from April next year. This means that the Danish state will now ditch Microsoft’s proprietary document formats.

Government instructs itself to use open standards

The Dutch government last week published instructions on open IT standards, basically telling all public administrations that when implementing IT, the use of these is now the default. 

European governments help increase ODF interoperability

Representatives from three European member states, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, took part in the second Open Document Format (ODF) interoperability workshop held in the Italian town of Orvieto at the beginning of this month.

Belgian government chooses OpenDocument (2006, 2008)

In a blow to Microsoft, Belgium's government departments will be instructed to use an open file format for internal communications. 

Hollandia nem kér a Microsoftból (2007)

A holland kormány megszavazta, hogy 2008 áprilisától áttér a nyílt forráskód használatára. A döntés, amely két kormánybizottság munnkájának eredményeképp született kimondja, hogy a nemzeti szintű kormányszervezeteknek a fenti határidõig készen kell állniuk, hogy anyagaikat ODF formátumban (Open Document Format) mentsék el.
